Note: All students ages 13 and olderr are expected to know everything on this page. This shouldn't be too difficult, since most of it is used in every class meeting. If, however, this is unattainable for any reason, please speak with Master King or Dr. King to have the problem resolved.
Poomse: Pattern or Form
- A poomse is a pre-setup demonstration of different kicks and hand techniques in Tae Kwon Do. The student uses these moves against an imaginary opponent or opponents.
Keyroo Ki: Sparring or Fighting
- Keyroo Ki is the application of Tae Kwon Do techniques on an opponent. Keyroo Ki requires proper timing of techniques, distance, and control.
Keuk Pa: Breaking
- Keuk Pa is done to practice the power, precision, and concentration of the Tae Kwon Do student or instructor.
Ho Sin Sol: Practical Self Defense
- Ho Sin Sol is the study of how to use an attacker's strength, skill, and weapons against him or her in a street-defense situation.
Mook Nyeom: Meditation
- We practice Mook Nyeom to practice concentration, to focus the precision and power of a technique, to think about our goals, and to listen to our conscience.

What is the meaning of Tae Keuk Pahl Jahng, the high red belt poomse?
- Tae Keuk Pahl Jahng means "Earth" - the end. Performing this poomse, you should know that this is the last Tae Keuk poomse. Because the Tae Keuk poomses are considered to be a circle, you never really reach the end. So, this poomse is not just the last, but also the first, the second, the third, and so on.
