The Five Tenets of Tae Kwon Do:

- Shaw — Relax
- Sheezuk — Begin
- Koomhan — Stop
- Kook ki yay da hi yoe kyeong naet. — Bow to the flags
- Sa Bum Nim kay kyeong naet. — Bow to the instructor
- Ki Hap — Yell
- Mook Nyeom — Meditation
